BodyFix
Skilled, hands-on therapy to support pain relief, movement and physical ease
BodyFix is my hands-on physical therapy work, designed to help reduce pain, release restriction and support the body’s ability to move more comfortably.
People come to BodyFix for many reasons — pain, tension, reduced mobility, postural strain, recovery from injury or surgery, or simply because their body no longer feels as free or settled as it once did.
This is therapy, not pampering.
EMMETT Technique
The EMMETT Technique is often my go-to approach for pain and restricted movement.
It’s a unique form of muscle release therapy that uses light finger pressure at specific points on the body to encourage muscles to let go of unnecessary tension. These points are chosen carefully, based on how the body is compensating or holding.
Despite its gentle nature, the effects can be significant, and many people notice changes quickly. The work is non-invasive and works with the body’s own response rather than forcing change.
EMMETT can be helpful for issues involving areas such as the neck, shoulders, back, hips and knees, as well as more general movement restriction.
Session length:
Initial session up to 40 minutes
Follow-up sessions up to 30 minutes

Lymphatic Drainage Support – EMMETT Technique
The EMMETT Technique also includes a specific routine designed to support the lymphatic system.
The body is naturally very good at clearing waste, but this process can become sluggish during periods of stress, illness, medication use or prolonged fatigue.
This lymphatic-focused work is gentle, calming and often feels quite unusual at first — but in a gentle, non-invasive way.
Session length:
Up to 30 minutes
Reflexology
Reflexology is a well-established therapy that works with specific reflex points on the feet, corresponding to different areas and systems of the body.
By working with these points, reflexology aims to support balance within the body’s systems and encourage relaxation and circulation.
People often choose reflexology for its calming effect as well as its broader supportive benefits, particularly during periods of stress or when the body feels out of balance.
Session length:
30 or 45 minutes

Advanced therapeutic massage
This is not spa massage.
My massage work is therapeutic and informed by experience, anatomy and observation of how your body is functioning on the day.
I combine deep tissue techniques — where appropriate — with more traditional Swedish-style massage to address long-standing tension, muscular restriction and postural strain. Pressure is always adapted to what your body responds to best.
This work is particularly suited to people who feel they carry tension deeply, or whose bodies have adapted over time to stress, work demands or physical load.
Session length:
1 hour – full body
45 minutes – half body
30 minutes – back, neck and shoulders or feet/legs
MSTR – McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release
Scar tissue is a natural part of the body’s healing response following surgery or injury. However, as scars heal and contract, they can create unequal tension within the fascia, sometimes leading to pulling, restriction or altered movement patterns elsewhere in the body.
MSTR is a specialised, hands-on technique that works directly with scar tissue and the surrounding structures.
It can be helpful where scars are associated with sensations or experiences such as numbness, tingling, discomfort, sensitivity, restriction of movement, postural changes or a feeling of disconnection within the body.
This work is precise and targeted, and sessions are tailored to the size, age and location of the scar.

Testimonial
Sarah
Before working with Lesley, I was training regularly and pushing my body hard, but ongoing discomfort in my lower back and feet — including plantar fasciitis — was starting to take its toll. Everyday movement and recovery were becoming more difficult, and I felt frustrated trying to stay active while my body wasn’t cooperating.
From the first session, I felt completely at ease. Lesley listened carefully and worked in a way that felt both intuitive and professional, responding to what my body needed each time. The sessions were calming and grounding, and I often left feeling lighter, more aligned and noticeably more comfortable.
Since working together, the tension and discomfort that used to slow me down have eased significantly. My plantar fasciitis has almost gone, my back feels freer, and everyday movement is much easier. I also feel more confident in how I move and more aware of my body overall.
Lesley’s work is thoughtful, tailored and supportive. Physically I’ve noticed real, lasting improvements, and emotionally it’s reassuring to work with someone who helps you feel informed and supported in your recovery.
How BodyFix fits with my wider work
Some people come to see me only for BodyFix. Others find that physical work and subconscious work complement each other well.
Sometimes the body needs support first.
Sometimes the mind does.
Sometimes both are involved.
